‘Without hope, people can’t live.’Mohammed (poet, waiter – Bangladeshi)
A bit about the project
Hopeswork.org is a small window on the work that people are doing all over the world to practise their hope.
I’m working with groups in the UK to explore the practical meaning of hope for their own work, and I’ll be writing about it here and elsewhere.
The project is intended as a supportive response to many people who say they feel a lack of hope for the world.
A bit about me
I’ve been in the peace movement for about 20 years campaigning, writing, and supporting groups working for social change.
My new book, Hope’s work, will be published in early 2021 by Darton, Longman & Todd.
Any queries? Just get in touch.
Special thanks to Sunniva Taylor and Ersilia Verlinghieri for their thoughtful attention to the drafts of some of the blog pieces I’ve published here.
Thanks also to artists who’ve allowed me to use their work here: Arvindh Baburam, Daniel Balanescu.
And thanks to the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust for supporting this project with a grant.
